The James Island Cup (held in November of each year) and James Island Festival (held in January of each year), are the two primary soccer events at JIYSC.  These events bring in over 100 teams per tournament, from the Carolinas, Georgia and beyond. 

The impact on the local economy is huge, as families converge on Charleston for the weekend.  Restaurants, hotels and other retail outlets are positively impacted by these events.

Teams participate in the Cup and Festival due to the location itself...Charleston, SC.  In addition, they return because of the experience, facilities and staff which makes the Cup and Festival worth looking forward to.

The primary responsibilities for the Cup and Festival include:

• Event marketing
• Field preparation (field lining, corner flags, securing of goals)
• Facilities preparation (benches, bathrooms and concession stand)
• Tent assembly
• Promotional sales (clothing, etc.)
• Concession sales
• Trash pick-up
• Tournament tear down (returning the fields and facilities back to pre-tournament condition)
