We are looking forward to a great season. As you know, our club relies on parent volunteers to be successful. As outlined in the JIYSC Volunteer Policy, every family is required to volunteer at least 4 hours to support the club or pay a $100 waiver fee. Below are the volunteer opportunities available this spring.

You can sign up for volunteer activities by emailing the volunteer coordinator, Frances Puckette, at jiyscvolunteer@gmail.com. Please provide your name, your child’s name, and your team/coach name. Please indicate the specific activities you are signing up for (including the dates you are available).  When performing your volunteer commitment, you are required to sign in and document your Volunteer hours.

There is a notebook in the Concession stand to document your volunteer hours. The Volunteer Coordinator will track each family’s hours.

The Robbie Memorial Soccer Tournament will be held at JIYSC fields on April 24 & 25.  There will be additional Volunteer opportunities available during this weekend.   More info to follow.......... 

Concession Stand- MAIN fields

 Trash Pick up on Saturdays- MAIN fields
On Saturdays, the trash cans around the Main field need to be emptied into the dumpster in the parking lot. There is a wheelbarrow behind the Concession Stand to assist with hauling trash. In addition, the bathroom trash cans need to be emptied and hand towels need to be replaced.

All of the supplies are kept in the back room of the Concession Stand (CS).

On a weekly basis, the trash cans around Main fields need to be emptied into the dumpster in the parking lot. In addition, the bathrooms at the Main field need to be swept and the trash cans emptied. The soap and hand towels need to be replaced weekly

All of the supplies are kept in the back room of the Concession Stand (CS) at the Main fields. The CS is locked during the week; however a key box is on the CS door with a key to the CS and bathrooms.

James Island Youth Soccer Club is a volunteer soccer organization.  Due to the strength of our parent-base of volunteers, JIYSC is able to offer a soccer experience for all ages and skill levels, while keeping soccer affordable.

The purpose of establishing a volunteer hour requirement is two-fold.  One, the Club believes there is no better sense of ownership and understanding of the responsibilities involved with running such a large organization, than taking part in the many events and services which JIYSC promotes each year.

Secondly, our volunteers make it possible to offer training to the Micro Soccer teams at no charge, afford JIYSC to use proceeds from tournaments to improve facilities, and provide scholarships to those players and families with a financial need.  For every dollar our volunteer parent saves JIYSC, the club is able to put 100% of the money saved to work in a manner which improves our soccer community.
