Families of players who wish to be considered for scholarships must contact JIYSC via email at jiysc@hotmail.com by August 1, 2010. You must provide a copy of an approval letter for Free or Reduced Price Meals from your school.
Scholarships may be awarded based on income eligibility guidelines published yearly in the Federal Register and used for the School Meal Program under the U.S.D.A. A family eligible for Reduced Price Meals, under the above guidelines, will be awarded a scholarship for registration fees. These fees may be for Micro, Recreational, Academy or Select players, and will cover the entire seasonal year; i.e. Fall and Spring. A family eligible to receive Free Meals, under the above guidelines, may be awarded a scholarship for registration fees, training/coaching fees or uniform (jersey, shorts and socks) costs, depending on need. Additional scholarship opportunities, beyond registration fees, are on a limited basis.
Expenses not covered by scholarship include, but are not limited to, soccer balls, shin guards, cleats, gear bags, water bottles, goalie shirts or gloves, tournament fees, travel expenses and volunteer waivers. (All families of scholarship recipients must provide four hours of volunteer time, to the Club, per season played).
The Club will notify all applicants of eligibility for or rejection of scholarship funds in writing. The JIYSC Board reserves the right to set up payment plans on a case by case situation for those individuals who are rejected.
All scholarships are contingent upon availability of funds.
